The Biosphere has been shortlisted in the Northern Building Excellence Awards 2020. Shortlisted as a finalists in both the ‘Best Commercial Project’ and ‘Best Public Service or Educational Building’ categories these awards are the largest business to business awards in the UK.

The awards celebrate the achievements within the construction industry, recognising buildings, people, and projects that have gone the extra mile to create high quality, high performing, and sustainable buildings. They consider innovation, inclusivity, and collaboration when choosing winners.

Ryder Architecture designed The Biosphere with Kier Construction the appointed contractor for the build.  It has been designed to a high standard that meets the ever-changing needs of the life science sector. The key to its commercial success lies in the efficiency of the footprint and the provision of flexible layouts to allow the building to continue to respond to changing demands in use.

The winners of the Northern LABC Building Excellence Awards will be announced on Thursday 24th with regional winners being invited to attend national grand finals.
